Subprime Loans

I am not putting in my two cents worth about this phenomenon, I cannot understand what it is about except that it is causing real big problem in the world financial system and wonder when its full impact will be upon us - my favourite blog tankinlian has now written a few postings about it and you do well to go to his blog for his comments and observation.

"He told this old story. A buyer got a rotten Herring and complained about it to the broker who sold it to him. The broker said. "Oh that was a trading Herring not an eating Herring.”"

What has modern capitalism brought us? how it has been manipulated by those savvy guys earning multimillion wages - " creating shareholders value" go figure.

Manila Office Blessing and Celebration

Capt Lee will be visiting Manila next week when we will be having our office blessing and year end party on the 18th for our Pinoy staff, crew and their families.

We have successfully completed our office renovation and its looks much, much nicer. We intend the new office should be a place where our crew can proudly drop by as their home base in Manila, welcome and attended to by our staff in a comfortable and modern environment. This renovation is quite costly but represent our firm commitment to our Filipino crew and our customers for the long term and our confidence for the future development.

Flights to Manila are full even as we booked a month ahead - so we can only get capt Lee there while I will stay behind here as monday we are attending to a ship delivery KS Philea in Singapore.

My best wishes go for our Monsooners in Manila and to all our christian / catholic friends, staff and crew and their families, Monsoon wish them all a wonderful christmas and New Year holidays. I wish they will have a nice and enjoyable office blessing and year end party.

I will ask Capt Lee to send me some photoes for posting here later.

Visitors to my blog

Has anyone read my blog lately? those checking in may find that I am now blogging less regularly. I do not have a counter so I do not know how many visitors I have to my blog, but anyway, there must be zillions of blogs in this world. My blog is mainly a diary for personal expression and perhaps to share some comments and ideas with people I may already know or within the community we live, such as for those with an interest in shipping or manning.

Mr Tan Kin Lian, my favourite blogger has today said he has about 700 visitors per day and these are probably regulars like myself who may it a point to check in to get some free financial and other good advices. He wanted to bring the visitors to 1000 per day so he asked us to direct our friends to his blog. I would certainly recommend it to anyone who are now reading this posting, make a point to check into his blog, now.

We are living in a very interconnected world so visiting one blog, most certainly you will find links to other blogs which may be of interest. Its a bit like window shopping, you go into a hugh shopping mall and then browse around, then you go into one shop for a while and then you wander into some other shops, you may stop a while for coffee and listen to the music and watch the people pass around you. It is a random exercise, often without a purpose. Pass time, pass time.

Happy wandering and if you do happen to drop by, leave a note if you have the time.
